Sunset Place (Gadigal/Sydney) deliver a captivating body of work with their debut self-titled EP. The quartet creates an eclectic blend of soul, jazz, folk, and rock inspired by the likes of Hiatus Kaiyote, Jeff Buckley, and Joni Mitchell. The EP is filled with luscious harmonies and infectious grooves which complement vocalist Jess Smallwood’s powerful voice and brooding lyrics. 

 

Featuring the singles ‘No Matter What’ and ‘Still Mourning’, Sunset Place expands upon themes of trauma, anxiety, and healing with the chaotic exuberance of ‘White Strawberry Mountains’ and the floaty dreaminess of ‘Don’t Wait For Me’. 

 

The future is bright for Sunset Place who will celebrate the release on 20 October at The Vanguard, Newtown.
